The Chernobyl liquidators lost part of their compensation and sued the goverment.

In the early 2010s, moral damages were awarded to 484  participants of the liquidation of the consequences at the Chernobyl  . The total payment amounted to 670 million rubles. Chernobyl victims received a part of this money, but in July 2012, the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria began to annul decisions on compensation,  and plaintiffs  had to return the money.  This month 120 nuclear power plant appealed to the Supreme Court of Kabardino-Balkaria with a request to reconsider the case about the refusal to pay compensation for moral damage.
