First photo of the reactor 4 taken after Chernobyl disaster by Igor Fedorovich Kostin (І́гор Фе́дорович Ко́стін) , then a reporter for the Novosti Agency, from an helicopter flying over the nuclear power plant . Haze on the pictures is due to the high radiation level and  the motor of his cameras began to exhibit symptoms of radioactive-caused degradation after around 20 shots. Once the cameras′ failure the helicopter returned to Kiev with this now iconic image.
